To start this episode, we will do a draw for a prize give away of Carolyn Scott-Hamilton’s cookbook “The Healthy Voyager’s Global Kitchen; 150 Plant-Based Recipes From Around The World“. There is still time to enter this draw! To enter, just send us a quick email at firstname.lastname@example.org (or post a note on our Facebook group) telling us what one of your favorite plant-based ethnic dishes is and where it’s from. To be eligible to win, you must be able to pick up your prize from our station in downtown Vancouver. Deadline for entries is February 3rd at 9am PST. Good luck!
Next, Alison chats about her upcoming vegan trip next week to India on the VegNews Great Adventure to India 2012. Hear all about it here!
Glenn Gaetz, Animal Advocacy Camp
Our first interview is with local Vancouver animal activist Glenn Gaetz, who is with us to tell us all about the upcoming Animal Advocacy Camp, Vancouver’s Animal Rights UnConference. This 2 day event will be happening this year on February 25th and 26th. It’s a time for Lower Mainland animal advocates to meet together for a weekend of learning about taking effective action for animals.
The idea is that we, as animal advocates, have valuable skills, experiences and ideas and that by working and learning together, we can build a stronger community of animal advocates and make a greater difference in the lives of animals. Everyone is encouraged to attend, and registration is only $15 for the whole event, which includes keynote speakers Camille Labchuk (federal Green Party), Rob Laidlaw (Zoocheck Canada), Lesley Fox (Fur Bearer Defenders), and vegan superstar Sarah Kramer (cookbook author).
If you wish to attend this exciting event, you can register here.
