Gary Allan, Threats Facing the Wolves in British Columbia

Today’s feature interview is with Gary Allan, an advocate for the wolves who lives on Northern Vancouver Island and works towards conservation of these often misunderstood animals. He has two wolf dog companions, himself, named Meshach and Tundra, and he takes Tundra into schools and community groups to do educational presentations on wolves, having visited over 50 schools and 10,000 students in the past 3 years.

Gary speaks with us about the threats currently facing the wolves in our own province of British Columbia, Canada at the hands of our government who have declared it “open season” for anyone who wants to to kill the wolves in the name of population “management”. Gary also speaks to us about the behaviors of wolves in the wild and his educational presentations that aim to garner an understanding and respect for these creatures.
