We’re in the midst of our Fall member drive and we’re calling on you to show us that you appreciate the work that we do to bring you current and diverse content on Animal Voices each week.
If you are one of the amazing people who have already stepped up to show your support we offer our thanks to you from the bottom of our hearts! You have been entered into our donor draw and can expect that we will call winners at the end of October. We have some great books and gift certificates up for grabs.
If you’d like to help our show and enter the draw please visit CoopRadio.org NOW to become a member (don’t forget to list Animal Voices as your favourite show)! It’s not how much you give that counts but just that you do give something (the amount is totally flexible). We need your help to continue to offer a platform to people working to speak out for animals and promote compassionate living.
John Oberg of Vegan Outreach
John Oberg is a passionate animal advocate who has been leafletting with Vegan Outreach since 2009 and was hired this year as their Outreach Coordinator. He was at University of British Columbia today in the midst of a leafletting blitz of BC’s colleges and universities, spreading the word about the horrors of industrial animal agriculture. John speaks about Vegan Outreach and incredible effect that one person with a smile and a stack of leaflets can have!
To get started with leafletting or to help with the work that Vegan Outreach does please visit their website: VeganOutreach.org. To join John next time he visits your area email him directly: JohnO@VeganOutreach.org
After the show aired we got an update from John about his day at UBC:
“At the point of the interview (about 12:10pm), we had reached about 3,000 students. By the end of the day (around 3:00pm), the total came to 4,249, which is an all-time record for any school in Canada — big news on the outreach front! Thanks for helping me promote this kind of work!
Animal Liberation Forum 2012
The Animal Liberation Forum is a FREE 3 day conference in Long Beach, California, that calls animal liberators, abolitionists, and vegan activists of all kinds to action! Topics ranging from animal liberation, interconnections of oppressions, direct action, and veganism will be discussed and strategized through speakers, panels, workshops, film screenings, music, and art.
