Our first interview is with Dr. Lisa Papania, a senior lecturer at the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University and co-founder of Lupii Community Cafe. She speaks with us on the services offered at Lupii, including zero-waste plant-based cooking courses and catering, and shares tips on zero-waste vegan living.

 

 

 


Denise Vallejo, Alchemy Organica

Featured on this week’s show is Denise Vallejo, a Los Angeles-based vegan chef and first-generation Xicana who is the founder and owner of Alchemy Organica, a mobile ancestral kitchen inspired by the gastronomic heritage and plant wisdom of Mexico. She shares with us the work she does creating incredible traditional Mexican dishes using only plant ingredients, and offers insight into how plant-based cooking and eating can be part of a praxis of decolonizing and living in harmony with the natural world.
