How To Become an Animal Rights Intern

Listen to this episode right here!

Summer is fast approaching and that means its almost time for internship season!

Many animal rights organizations have openings for college students, teens and grown ups  to volunteer as part of internship programs. These programs provide valuable hands on work experience related to the professional world of animal rights and the non-profit sector. Internships can range from a full time commitment to a flexible schedule and may also include travel, housing or financial stipend benefits. Though many of these internships are available all year round, with summer on the way we thought now would be a great time to give you the inside scoop on interning for animals.

Groups like Farm SanctuaryMercy for Animals, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, Humane Society of the United States, Woodstock Animal Sanctuary, Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, all offer internships. A great list of other potential organizations can be found here: http://yale-animal-welfare-alliance.org/resources/summer-internships/
