King Zoom the Vegan Kid: Volume 1: Animals used for food is the first in a series of non-fiction illustrated children’s books to focus on the social justice movement of our time.

In each book, King Zoom explains the What, Why and How of what it is like to be a Vegan through his real-life experiences in activism. Peaceful communication and self-care skills are outlined. The reader is introduced to several real-life rescued animals through colorful imagery inspired by personal photographs. Each Volume ends with one of King Zoom’s favorite vegan recipes.

Dani Rukin, the Daring Vegan

Dani Rukin, also known as the Daring Vegan, began her vegan journey in 2015 after learning about the unspeakable atrocities committed against animals.

She has since dedicated her life to animal rights and travels the globe spreading her message of compassion, truth, equality, and justice for all.

She is an organizer for Direct Action Everywhere (DxE) – Portland, as well as an active member of  The Save Movement and Anonymous for the Voiceless/Cube of Truth.

She is also an international reporting journalist for JaneUnChained, a fast-growing social media news outlet producing original videos on animals rights and the vegan/compassionate lifestyle and movement, launched by nationally known TV journalist and bestselling author, Jane Velez-Mitchell.

“I’ll eat cardboard before I ever eat an animal” is Dani’s motto, and in this interview, Dani talks about her “awakening”, experiences on the front lines and how she maintains balance and self -care.

Michelle Singleton, A Home for Hooves Sanctuary

In June of 2017, after touring Rasta Sanctuary, Michelle Singleton went from vegetarian to vegan and established her own sanctuary: A Home for Hooves in Chemainus, BC.

A Home for Hooves Farm Sanctuary has 15 residents:  six pot-bellied pigs (Charlie, Charlotte,  Puddin, Juniper, Hazel and Gracie), a 900 pound Heritage Farm Pig (Debbie), two Guinea Hogs (Eugene and Violet), four goats (Remi, Finnegan, Buddy and Smurfy) and two cats (Alice and Koda).

In this interview, Michelle tells some of these animals rescue stories and talks about what it takes to establish an animal farm sanctuary.
