We start the show with the latest updates from Jen with regards to the recent win for the animals (and loss for the Vancouver Park Board), when the Board unanimously voted to ban the importation of cetaceans (dolphins and whales) into the Vancouver Aquarium. Now the Friends of the Vancouver Aquarium is quickly deleting factual and logical comments on their Facebook page by anti-captivity activists, and we wonder why….

Our feature interview is with Paul Shapiro. He is the Vice-President of Policy Engagement of the Humane Society of the United States, and, as such, keeps up on all the latest news in the world pertaining to the animal agriculture industry as well as societal changes in meat consumption.

For our annual Meatout Day show, we have him back here for the fifth year in a row to give us all the latest info on what’s happening on the planet on issues surrounding the meat industry and trends towards cutting out the meat in adopting plant-based diets. Learn about the latest in “clean meat” (lab-grown meat) technology, as well as why Tyson Foods now owns a 5% share in one of North America’s fastest growing plant-based protein companies, Beyond Meat.

Paul also shares with us how he eats vegan every day!
