Making the Connection Between Animal Rights and Human Rights: The Rights of Slaughterhouse Workers

Slaughterhouse workers skinning a pig.

Tomorrow, December 10th, is World Human Rights Day. This is a day that is recognized globally to bring to light issues facing the rights of people all over the world. Animal Voices radio is a show about animal rights, in which we bring to light the issues facing animals all over the world. So how do the two interconnect with each other and what is the relevance to address an issue of human rights on a show that is about animals?

Alison presents this segment where we go into some of the human rights issues that slaughterhouse workers face every day, including deplorable working conditions, great injury rates, and harmful psychological impacts.
